Dr. Sheri Yamanishi
Dr. Yamanishi graduated from UCLA in 1990 with a B.S. in Microbiology and received her doctor of optometry degree from UC Berkeley in 1994. She enjoyed participating in VOSH (Volunteer Optometric Services to Humanity) and LMV (Los Medicos Voladores) missions where vision services were provided free of charge to those in need. She has served as an examiner for the National Board of Optometry.
Dr. Yamanishi enjoys fitting contact lenses and doing general eye exams for children and adults. She knows that everyone is different and has different visual needs. She will do her best to provide the information needed for each individual to make decisions about their eyes and corrective system. She believes that the quote, "The wisest mind has something yet to learn," is a good representation of her thinking. The science behind the treatment of the visual system is constantly progressing and the best recommended treatment now can differ in the future. She tries to do her best to sift through information to make decisions based on what makes sense overall.
Dr. Yamanishi has a wonderful husband, daughter, and son (she's not biased) with whom she spends most of her time outside work. She enjoys traveling, SCUBA diving, biking, snow skiing and her job.
